Current Situation
Weston Mill Oak Villa Sports and Social Club

Weston Mill Oak Villa Sports and Social Club has been operating for XXX years, housing many rugby and football teams throughout the years. The clubhouse has provided the changing rooms and social post-match facilities for these teams, as well as a community facility allowing social clubs, seasonal parties, wakes, weddings and many more activities to take place in a community focused environment.

Below is a brief description of the current situation at the club.

Sports Pitches:

The sports pitches are often vandalised which not only costs the club time and money to rectify, but also reduces possible playing time on the pitches whilst remedial works take place. Dug outs have been demolished and motorcycles are often ridden across the field, churning up the playing surface. Poor drainage also means the pitches quickly become flooded, holding water and subsequently tearing up during games.

Changing Facilities:

The changing rooms available at the club are severely dated, do not meet modern standards and do not provide enough areas for changing when several games are on. Currently the rugby changing rooms are simply portable storage containers utilised as changing rooms to try and achieve the facilities required.

Sports and Social Club Building:

The Sports and Social Club building itself has served the community well for many years, but the layout and age of the building now limits what it can offer and sustain, given the increasing costs of maintenance, repairs and everyday running costs. Whilst several community groups or private bookings may require the space at the same time, a lack of compartmentation and suitable facilities restricts this from being possible. The building itself is also in need of urgent repairs.
